OBJECTIVES AND PURPOSES

This book on Theory / Paired Triads 1, for all instrumentalists, includes the concept pairs which refers to two triads of the same type or species that are at pitch distance from each other.

They arise from the major and melodic minor scale. Each of the pairs includes major, minor, and diminished triads.

It is important to bear in mind that the pair of triads is considered as a melodic unit formed by the different combinations of the triads that define said pair.

In general, they are used mainly in modal harmonies or on the same seventh chord that is maintained for several measures,

This does not prevent us from expanding our search in its use either in different progressions as well as in any work or song.

CONTENTS

The book has 7 lessons, 16 melodic patterns and 13 special links with all the details of the application of the triads and the audio tracks corresponding to 9 different types of 7th chords.

It also contains the superposition of the different pairs of triads on three works of the Jazz repertoire. (Cantaloupe Island – Maiden Voyage – So What)

The Synthesis and Summary Tables give us the possibility of having all the information organized for a permanent, quick and easy consultation.

Said pairs are presented in the closed position, which does not prevent those who wish to do so from developing them in the open position. (See Spread Triads 1 and 2 for guitar by Néstor Crespo from this same publisher)

AUDIOS

In order to appreciate the sound generated by the superposition of each pair of triads, listening to the audios included in each of the lessons is essential.

It also includes:

18 Practice Tracks: Modal (over nine types of seventh chords)

3 Practice Tracks: Jazz (Cantaloupe Island – Maiden Voyage – So What)
